Financing Women’s Leadership in Climate Security: From Strategy to Action

How can we turn ideas from Belém into reality? In this event, we are advocating for climate financing that reaches those who need it most: locally-led women’s organizations in fragile and conflict-affected regions. Additionally, we will leverage the momentum of the COP30 Joint Pledge to consolidate our coalition and strategically align our collaboration beyond COP31. Our objective is to strengthen the international recognition of women-led organizations as essential actors for climate resilience and sustainable peace. We will highlight the Women’s Peace and Humanitarian Fund’s “Funding Initiative on Women and Climate Security”, with Germany as key partner, as a central mechanism for advocacy and financing locally-led action.
