Robert Robinson

Rob Robinson is a Senior Advisor at Partners for Dignity and Rights and coordinator of the USA-Canada Alliance of Inhabitants. After losing his job in 2001, he spent two years homeless on the streets of Miami and ten months in a New York City shelter. Since overcoming homelessness, he has been a leading voice in the housing movement — co-founding the Take Back the Land Movement and being the New York City chairperson for the first ever official mission to the US of a United Nations Special Rapporteur on the Right to Adequate Housing. His work spans homeless populations in Berlin and Budapest and housing and land rights movements across South Africa, Brazil and Europe. He lectures widely on urbanism and housing rights and was appointed adjunct professor of Urbanism at the New School University in 2021.
