Katherina Reiche

Katherina Reiche has a degree in chemistry and has been the CEO of Westenergie AG since January 1^st, 2020. Since June 2020, she also has been serving as the honorary Chairwoman of the National Hydrogen Council, which advises the German Federal Government on implementing Germany’s National Hydrogen Strategy. And since April 2023, she has been a member of the Supervisory Board of Schaeffler AG, a global automotive and industrial supplier. From 2015 to 2019, she was Chief Executive Officer of the German Association of Municipal Enterprises (VKU). Previously, she was a member of the German Bundestag for 17 years, six of them as a member of the federal government and state secretary in two federal ministries: the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety and the Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure.
